Estech Systems Inc. has come out with a smartphone application for mobile workers. It’s called ESI ePhoneGO. And it is a replacement for the company’s ESI Ditto mobility application for ESI eCloud PBX (News - Alert) users.

“Today’s mobile workforce needs a solution to keep them connected to their office regardless of where they are working from,” said ESI (News - Alert) CEO George Platt. “As the mobile workforce continues to grow at a rapid rate, it is important for businesses to equip their employees with integrated and streamlined mobile apps to meet their evolving needs.”

That’s what ESI ePhoneCO allows to happen. It enables business users to access their corporate contacts from their smartphones. It allows them to use simplified dialing plans even while on the move. And it provides them the ability to record calls, transfer calls, and work from any location as if they were at their office desks.

Estech Systems sells cloud services and phone systems. The privately owned, Plano, Texas-based company has sold more than 350,000 such systems since it was established in 1987.

Business voice today is increasingly part of larger suites of services known as unified communications solutions. And these services are increasingly being offered via the cloud as opposed to through premises-based equipment.

Technavio says the global VoIP services market is poised for a 9.87 percent compound annual growth rate between this year and 2021. Global Market Insights says the overall UC market is poised to reach $96 billion by 2023. And it notes the expected proliferation of hosted products in this category. And Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) says North America’s hosted IP telephony and UCaaS space last year saw greater than 30 percent growth and that can expect double-digit growth in this arena through 2023.

In 2016 installed hosted IP telephony and UCaaS users increased by 32.1 percent, according to Frost & Sullivan. There was 30.6 percent revenue growth – not including access – in the market, driven in part by digital transformation efforts and premises-based solutions reaching end of life.

8x8, NetFortris/Fonality, RingCentral, and Vonage (News - Alert) are among the market leaders, Frost & Sullivan says. It adds that Cisco, Microsoft, Unify, and Zang are among the market disruptors.
