Comview has announced increased support for mobile users and devices used in enterprises. This increased support is expected to aid the companies who are struggling to differentiate between the company owned and employee owned devices.
These upgrades are offered at the company’s Fixed and Wireless Telecom Management platform. This forms a bottleneck in controlling all the devices that log on to the company’s network which could translate into compromised security.
Comview’s software helps enterprises to keep track of mobile devices being used in their company, whether owned by the company or not. While this software uses carrier invoice data and other sources to track corporate devices, it requires employee devices to be registered through the Comview portal, or via two-way integration with Mobile Device Management (MDM) providers like AirWatch (News - Alert).
To make it easier to differentiate between corporate owned and employee owned devices, the software also enables different color coding. This enables companies to manage their BYOD spend and keep the costs in check. Also, the ability to have all expenses in one place provides unprecedented control over wireless environment.
To enhance the security in a BYOD environment, Comview brings together different data feeds. These feeds easily identify the unregistered devices, thereby closing a major BYOD security loophole.
“These new enhancements to our telecom management platform come from listening to the needs of our customers and the market,” said Comview CEO, John Perri. “Mobility has become such an integral part of most business today, that enterprises need better insight and tools to keep wireless expenses in check, and gain peace of mind when it comes to protecting corporate data in a mobile world.”
In 2013, the company became the first telecom vendor offering both telecom expense management (TEM) and wireless mobility management (WMM) services to be awarded the prestigious Efficiency First Solution Certification.
