Qualcomm Launches Video Collaboration Platform Suite to Boost Digital Transformations

June 21, 2023

Qualcomm Technologies announced the Qualcomm Video Collaboration Platform, a comprehensive suite of video collaboration solutions that allow OEMs to create and implement advanced video conferencing products.

The new platform provides superior video and audio quality, as well as customizable on-device AI, so immersive and engaging virtual meeting experiences can happen across various sectors like enterprise, healthcare, education, and even at home.

With the newly announced Qualcomm Video Collaboration Platform, customers also gain access to a range of hardware and software features tailored specifically for video conferencing.

The goal is to provide quick design and deployment capabilities for diverse products such as enterprise video collaboration systems, huddle room systems, digital whiteboards, touch controllers, and personal devices for home use and further digital transformations.

The suite comprises three AI-rich platforms designed for various video conferencing needs:

  1. Qualcomm Video Collaboration VC5: Delivers premium video conferencing experiences in enterprise environments with customizable AI audio and video features. Ready-to-use or customizable all-in-one conferencing systems can be quickly launched using the hardware-meets-software reference design. Chipsets supported include Qualcomm QCS8250, Qualcomm QCS7230, and soon Qualcomm QCS8550.
  2. Qualcomm Video Collaboration VC3: Offers advanced video conferencing capabilities, including support for multiple ultra-HD cameras, Wi-Fi 6E, and advanced AI audio and video features. It provides flexibility for designing and deploying video conferencing products for various applications, from huddle room systems to USB video bars and personal devices. Chipsets supported include Qualcomm QCS6490, Qualcomm QCS5430, and Qualcomm QCS610.
  3. Qualcomm Video Collaboration VC1: Designed for high-quality video conferencing accessories such as touch controllers, meeting room schedulers, and tablets, this platform integrates powerful computing performance, robust connectivity, and multimedia features. It enables developers to save time and costs in creating video conferencing accessories. Supported chipsets include Qualcomm QCS6125 and Qualcomm QCS610.

With support for Android and Linux, the platforms enable flexible customization and deployment of video conferencing products in various environments. Participants can view individual feeds of all conference room attendees, fostering a sense of connection and equality among remote and in-room callers.

Future meeting experiences will offer even more advanced video, speech, and text capabilities according to officials.

“Generative AI is rapidly revolutionizing the way we work, learn, and connect with one another at a rapid pace, and enabling more adaptive, immersive experiences than ever before” said Dev Singh, Vice President, Business Development and Head of Building, Enterprise & Industrial Automation, Qualcomm Technologies. “Qualcomm Technologies is continuing to utilize our rich history and leading technologies across connectivity, compute, AI, camera, and audio to ensure today’s immersive collaboration solutions are equipped to support the ever-expanding uses for tomorrow. The Qualcomm Video Collaboration Platform – and Qualcomm Technologies as a whole – offers our customers one stop for the technologies they need to develop a variety of different types of conference devices.”
