Zoom Releases 'Immersive View' Feature for Meeting in Virtual Settings
Video conferencing leader Zoom recently unveiled a new feature for the company’s platform, which allows group participants to gather in a virtual space within one single window. Zoom developed the feature to provide video conferencing and webinar users with a more familiar environment for meeting, deviating from the standard video panels that most users have become accustomed to.
Immersive View can allow up to 25 video participants to gather into creative settings. For instance, users can put groups into a virtual conference room that looks similar to what most would find in a standard office. Instead of individual users being viewed in segregated windows, the software combines the silhouettes of each person and puts them next to each other, as if sitting together at a conference table. Alternatively, users can also have fun with the software and have participants in fun atmospheres, such as paintings in an art gallery. Zoom users also have the opportunity to upload their own virtual settings for a customized setting.
As video conferencing technologies have become more common in the pandemic era, video platform providers like Zoom are coming up with sophisticated ways to make the experience as close to reality as possible. However, regular users may also become bored or unengaged with standard video panels, and new virtual settings offer an exciting alternative for collaborating with teammates.
Zoom’s Immersive view is now available for Windows and Mac operating systems, and is free for all users running Zoom 5.6.3 or higher. To learn more information about Zoom conferencing and Immersive View features, visit Zooms official website for more details.
