Cloud communications and contact center solutions provider RingCentral has announced the acquisition of Kindite’s Technology and Engineering team. RingCentral plans to utilize Kindite’s security and cryptographic technologies to mitigate risk and vulnerabilities.

Engineers at Kindite have created a data-protection platform that uses cryptographic orchestration that allows cloud applications to process encrypted data without decryption. RingCentral will incorporate this technology into its own platform to provide users with end to end encryption and privacy across all communication channels.

“Security and reliability are paramount in enabling employees to work from anywhere,” said Heather Hinton, Chief information Security Officer at RingCentral. “With this team’s leading-edge security technology, we will accelerate our ability to deliver end-to-end encryption and continue to enhance our commitment to deliver the highest level of security capabilities for our global communications platform, benefiting customers everywhere.”

The need for increased security has been a common talking point for the cloud communications sector as the industry continues its expansion into 2021. RingCentral’s decision to incorporate Kindite’s team is yet another instance  of companies joining forces to tackle the growing security concerns that have risen out of the remote conditions of the pandemic.

“We established Kindite to bring the very latest technological capabilities to address security and privacy in the cloud,” said Maor Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Kindite. “It’s fantastic we can bring these security capabilities to customers around the world while enhancing the RingCentral platform with the next generation of security technologies.”
