Accelerating A More Secure and Resilient Edge, SYNNEX Selects Ribbon's Software to Enhance Unified Communications including Microsoft Teams with Direct Routing

Ribbon, a global provider of real-time communications software and network solutions to service providers, enterprises, and critical infrastructure sectors, has a longstanding relationship with SYNNEX and earlier this month announced the expansion of the relationship into CALA.

SYNNEX is reselling Ribbon’s Cloud and Edge portfolio of products, designed to meet the demanding needs of service providers and enterprises looking to deploy Unified Communications and Collaboration with a high degree of security and quality. In addition to its Microsoft-certified SBCs, the product portfolio includes analytics, media gateways, policy and routing capabilities, and an advanced application server platform.

The Latin America and Caribbean (CALA) UCaaS market exhibited a strong, double-digit performance in 2019, according to Research and Markets, in terms of both users and revenue, a trend which continued in 2020, fueled by the COVID-19 crisis as millions were forced to work from home. Future growth is expected and forecast in the double-digit range and will be driven by a growing number of offerings in the market, an increasing acceptance of the cloud as a proven modality for technology consumption, and greater knowledge of UCaaS solutions (by both customers and the SPs).

Ribbon Connect for Microsoft Teams Direct Routing is a cloud-based service that optimizes and secures video conferencing, file sharing, and chat. Ribbon Connect adds dial tone to Teams to make and receive business phone calls, turning Teams into the office phone system, with a web-based portal that allows IT to add Teams Calling to user profiles. Ribbon Connect automatically makes configuration updates in Teams, with Session Border Controller services and integration into existing IP-PBX or Cloud UC services.
