8x8 Expands Global Business Development, Appoints Chief Revenue Officer

Cloud communications platform provider 8x8 has announced the appointment of Steve Seger for the role of Chief Revenue Officer. The company also said it is expanding its global business development organization.


Seger will report to CEO Vik Verma and oversee revenue operations, direct sales, and channel sales as well as Master Agents, Sub Agents, and VARs who are participating in the 8x8 Open Channel Partner Program. This helps businesses grow their customer base, build new revenue streams, and increase profits.

He will replace the current acting CRO Ken Berryman, who will lead the company’s strategic expansion efforts worldwide.

Seger will play a key role in helping the company to further accelerate its investments in delivering optimal solutions for users and winning new customers across the globe.

 “Steve and his leadership team will continue to grow our widely-recognized Open Channel Partner Program while extending the global sales and business development reach of our platform and services,” said Verma.

In his previous role, Seger was Senior Vice President of Americas Sales at Tibco Software, where his revenue-generating strategies led to record success for the company in 2018 and 2019. He also previously held senior sales and leadership positions at SAS, Oracle, and Xerox.

His strong abilities to lead a successful sales team made Seger a perfect fit for the role.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Seger said 8x8’s dedication to growth and strong channel partnerships create a unique market opportunity for the company.

8x8 also reaffirmed its guidance for the second quarter of fiscal 2021 ending September 30, 2020, which includes total revenue guidance in the range of $125.5 million to $126.5 million - a to 15-16  percent year-over-year growth and service revenue guidance in the field of $117.3 million to $118.3 million - 16-17 percent year-over-year growth.
