Vidyard is expanding the mobile version of its video collaboration and communication tools in response to increased adoption of its products. The company, which specializes in a video creation and hosting platform for businesses, said it has recently experienced a 400-percent increase in adoption of its solutions.

The mobile offering is now available through Android and also as a free extension for Microsoft Edge users. Vidyard's solution was already available through iOS with a recent update, and as a browser extension for Google Chrome.

Vidyard's mobile solution helps business users record and send personal video introductions as well as team updates and meeting recaps. Users may record and share video within seconds as well as upload movies and clips they have already created on their phones or through other apps.

Additional features include the ability for users to access their entire video libraries from anywhere and receive notifications when someone watches their videos. They may also send video through text messages and email as well as post clips to social media.

“In a time of travel restrictions and imposed distancing, the need to stay connected has led to the demand for asynchronous video communication, easy and accessible from wherever and whenever you are,” said Michael Litt, CEO and co-founder of Vidyard. “By creating an Android app, Vidyard continues a watershed year in which we’ve helped millions of new business professionals become video creators and hundreds of organizations become video-first businesses.”

The company has added 4.7 million users to its platform since March 1 of this year and is continuing to expand its reach with the Android and Microsoft Edge integrations. And according to The 2020 State of Video in Remote Work report, authored by Vidyard and Demand Metric, 94 percent of those queried are using videoconferencing for work. More than 50 percent of business users surveyed said they are created more pre-recorded videos than ever before.
