CallCabinet Intros Microsoft Teams Integration for Atmos Call Recording

The way we work has changed – most likely permanently.  The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the effectiveness of cloud-based business tools, and their use has skyrocketed during the past two months.  While some workers will start returning to their offices, others will continue to work remotely for the time being, and many companies have already announced permanent teleworking strategies.

This is all good news for cloud-based communications and collaboration providers, who are seeing their platforms at the forefront of this transition to a “new normal.”

On March 12, Microsoft was saw 560 million meeting minutes on its Teams platform.  By March 31, that daily figure ballooned to 2.7 billion minutes.  Similarly, the number of active users has grown impressively, from 32 million in early March to 75 million at the end of April.

What it means is millions more workers are now able to communicate with customers and colleagues seamlessly using any device, making teleworking much more effective – something companies that had already implemented mobile and remote workers discovered long ago.  What it also means is there’s an increased need for tangential products, like call recording, to ensure these interactions meet compliance requirements.

As it becomes increasingly evident that the workplace is going not likely to go entirely back to pre-coronavirus scenarios and collaboration suites like Teams are going to continue to see heavy usage, CallCabinet recognized the need to ensure businesses have access to call recording capabilities that would allow them to continue to meet regulatory mandates.

As such, it has announced integration of its Atmos cloud-native call recording solutions into Microsoft Teams.

“Organizations around the world consider Microsoft Teams to be an indispensable tool because it provides effortless collaboration across a wide variety of devices,” said CallCabinet CEO Ryan Kahan.  “Listening to our customers’ needs, we integrated our compliance and analytics solution directly into the Microsoft Teams platform.”

CallCabinet’s Atmos securely captures Teams’ communications regardless of device – web, desktop and mobile client, or desktop phone.  No additional hardware or device software is needed, and integration can be competed in just a few hours.  Atmos uses Microsoft’s Azure infrastructure to capture and securely store all Teams interactions and enables secure call playback, download, and sharing via a web-based interface.

“Online and mobile collaboration has experienced rapid adoption and with it the need for global compliance,” said Mike Ammerlaan, Director of Microsoft 365 Ecosystem marketing at Microsoft.  “CallCabinet, combined with Microsoft Teams, helps ensure global compliance for customers and complements the use of Teams across their enterprise.”
