New Multicast Speaker from CyberData Impresses with Low Retail Price Point

In a market saturated with technologies and communications devices, it’s easy to think that lower, competitive prices would result. However, the opposite is true in today’s VoIP communications space where tariffs and rising costs are the reality of the industry.

To answer to the needs of its customers and the market, CyberData Corporation, a company well known for its OEM design and manufacturing of peripheral devices for VoIP phone systems, has announced the release of a Multicast Speaker that retails for under $240.

The concept, according to company officials, stems from years of work to create the perfect solution that delivers everything that’s needed for multicasting without the extras.

According to Phil Lembo, President and CEO of CyberData, "We've been listening to what our customers and Distributor/VAR network have been telling us. And what they've been telling us is that customers need another option. Maybe they don't need all the bells and whistles of traditional SIP Speakers that may require a per unit license fee. They want and need a PoE powered Network Speaker with the ability to page."

The result is a Multicast Speaker for paging that works with on premise PBX servers or VoIP phones that support multicast and that can be used by schools, universities and in other industries that are looking for a way to multicast to large groups and have paging prioritization capabilities at a lower cost.

In addition to support for 10 multicast groups, the new Multicast Speaker also provides easy web-based configuration and configurable event generation for device health and status monitoring and will work with the company’s recently announced SIP Paging Server with Bell Scheduler as well as its Multicast Microphone.

Additional product releases are in store from CyberData for 2019 as the company said it plans to increase focus of bringing unique, cost-effective paging devices with secure access control to the market.

Interested in seeing the new Multicast Speaker in action? CyberData is at ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this week. The company is demoing it at booth # 717 in the exhibit hall.
