Arizona State University's W.P Carey School of Business has presented Tomas Gorney of Nextiva the 2018 Spirit of Enterprise Award.

Gorney founded Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Nextiva. It’s one of the fastest-growing cloud-based business communications providers in the country. It has served such clients as Allstate, Conan, IBM, Netflix, and Target. These entities are among the growing number of organizations drawn to the cost savings, flexibility, and scalability of cloud-based communications solutions.

Nextiva Office is a complete unified communications solution for businesses of all industries and sizes. It includes cloud phone service, a reporting and analytics tool, a mobile app, cloud backup and storage service, and virtual faxing.

In addition to leading and and having established Nextiva, Gorney

is also the CEO and co-founder of SiteLock. And he’s UnitedWeb’s co-founder, CEO, and chairman. UnitedWeb is the parent company of Nextiva and SiteLock.

Gorny created Nextiva more than a decade ago after he was unable to find a VoIP phone system suitable for a team of more than 300 customer service representatives. In 2016, Nextiva introduced a new way for businesses to manage their phone systems using the NextOS Portal. The web-based client allows Nextiva Office administrators to manage their company’s users, features, devices and locations via a single interface.

A Gartner report published last month says “Nextiva positions its NextOS solution across the midmarket. NextOS is a multitenant solution providing telephony, basic conferencing and collaboration (with screen sharing, file sharing, voice messaging and recording capabilities), chat, presence, and UM functions.

“Nextiva differentiates its UCaaS in the midmarket through its NextOS platform, which offers MSEs multichannel customer support software, CRM, chat, online survey software, email marketing software, analytics, AI and automation, and cloud storage and backup solutions. The NextOS platform also offers SLAs for availability, MTTR and performance for voice. Nextiva’s data center footprint and service delivery capabilities are available in North America only. MSEs wishing to leverage the same provider for contact center and voice requirements (to minimize provider contracts and improve interoperability) should consider Nextiva for North American requirements.”
