Toshiba America, XMedius Partner on FoIP

XMedius Solutions Inc. will be providing Toshiba America Business Solutions enterprise customers with a fax over IP solution called XMediusFAX.

This solution allows for the delivery of fax communications from most Toshiba multifunction printers, as well as Android, iPad, iPhone, and other devices. It supports fax on email applications including Microsoft Outlook and web pages too.

“Our partnership with XMedius broadens our existing solutions portfolio and equips our customers with an easy-to-use, scalable and efficient fax over IP offering,” said Bill Melo, Toshiba America Business Solutions chief marketing executive. “Secure fax communication is still mission critical for many businesses and our collaboration with XMedius enables us to meet this requirement with a state of the art solution.”

Sebastien Boire-Lavigne, executive vice president and chief technology officer of XMedius, added: “Toshiba users can easily incorporate their MFPs with this tamper-proof document transfer solution to address their fax needs. The embedded app guarantees the secure sharing of sensitive documents, such as health records, contracts, financial statements and transcripts while assuring compliance with HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.”

Toshiba America Business Solutions offers printers, managed document services, and digital signage solutions in Central and South America, Mexico, and the United States. XMedius offers a suite of enterprise-grade on-premises and cloud communications solutions. The company is headquartered in Montreal and has offices in Paris and Seattle.

“Although the arrival of emails has contributed to reducing the number of faxes sent and received, the fact of the matter is that this means of communication still remains relevant,” XMedius recently blogged. “Imagine that your financial analyst asks you to fax a document authorizing a transaction, or that your doctor would like to send you a copy of your last lab results by fax. Email is not a secure enough means to send such important and confidential documentation, and regular mail is decidedly too slow.”
