Business VoIP Meets the Cloud

While VoIP remains on its ascendancy of adoption, many are finding that not just VoIP but hosted business VoIP solutions are proving to be quite beneficial as well. Due to its many benefits, enterprises are not simply choosing VoIP, but are selecting the cloud as the chosen method of delivery.

Put simply, the cloud makes collaboration easy. It provides the enterprise with the ability to communicate to anyone and at anytime regardless of location. Also, we hear and read about siloed operations too often to count, which is unfortunate because an integrated approach is the only way to provide one’s best level of customer service. The cloud makes integrating CRM software, departments and operations simple, and in the meantime helps offer a competitive advantage from the field.

The cloud model also allows for more rapid deployment and development of services and offerings. A recent IBM study noted that 52 percent of companies leverage the cloud to innovate products and services more quickly than ever before and, 24 percent of those surveyed noted the ability to offer additional products and services due to cloud technology.

The proof is in the pudding as they say, and much like a picture says a thousand words, number never lie. Some 55 percent of respondents to the above IBM study noted an increase in efficiency and 49 percent stated an improvement in employee mobility, and a quarter of respondents stated a decline in IT costs.

Businesses today are realizing that technology is capable of improving the bottom line. From Big Data to a hosted PBX, technology makes work more productive, efficient and most importantly, bottom-line friendly than ever before. Especially when discussing moving one’s communications to the cloud, the savings on maintenance, storage and man power are certainly noticeable. 

The future is cloudy; no forecast for rain but those that leverage this technology will experience a windfall of functionality and future prosperity.
