Make Better Conference Calls with Business VoIP

Conference calls make talking to business folks a lot easier. The biggest benefit is that you can stay where you are and still attend a meeting, but just because you don’t have to be in a specific location, where you'd be face to face with the other members of the meeting, doesn’t mean that standard conference and meeting etiquette rules don’t apply.

As Nextiva recently pointed out in a blog post, one mistake some users make during a conference call is trying to multitask. Sure, it’s tempting to cull through your filled inbox while talking to your respective party, however, the break in concentration could mean a misstep, or information missed entirely, and that could lead to rather embarrassing outcomes.

When taking a conference call, be sure you’re in a location that is also quiet. Just because modern telecommunications has made it easier for you to talk to people across the globe, it doesn’t mean you should talk to them while sitting in a crowded bar during football season. Even a remote office can get noisy if there are pets or family members present. Be sure to choose a location that is good and quiet so that your attention is on what matters most.

Another big item to remember is to always assume that your line is never muted. Every cough, every bodily noise and every bit of background sound can and will be heard. While no one can really prevent a good sneeze, try to be mindful of what sounds are crossing the conference lines.

Of course, conference made with the latest technology will make the whole process run more smoothly, and the call quality will be much higher. Business VoIP provides a fast and easy way to host professional conference calls without any hassle.

On a traditional phone line, only a small handful people can reasonably be on one line, but with business VoIP, you can set up a conference with a whole team communicating in real time. VoIP compresses data packets during transmission, and this causes more data to be handled over the carrier. With the touch of a button, hundreds of people could be connected to a webinar, in a matter of seconds. This makes meeting with multiple parties much easier, as it allows the Web conference’s attendees to easily get connected and start the meeting.

Business VoIP is a fantastic technology when it comes to Web conferencing, as it allows conference participants from all over the world to speak cheaply and for as long as they need. For businesses that need to stay in constant contact, business VoIP is a perfect solution for the conference user.
