Business VoIP Provider Nextiva Details Running Hunt Group

Most business VoIP providers offer clients an almost overwhelming list of capabilities that can access including an auto attendant, call me now, dial-by-name directory, call forwarding, flash call hold, group paging and remote office just to name a few. But what is the point of having all of these features at your fingertips without truly knowing how to use them most optimally?

A recent blog post from Nextiva zeroes in on exactly how to leverage these functions, stating, “Our goal is to enlighten you on the set-up and benefits of some of these features to make the decision process a bit easier,” and decided to initially outline what Hunt Groups can provide for any user.

When setting up hunt groups, it is important to keep in mind that calls made to a single phone number can then be routed to an extension or multiple phone lines. This robust tool is perfect for assisting a caller in quickly being connected to an available agent found within a group of extensions, most commonly used in bigger businesses that encompass multiple divisions.

The post added, “For example, the caller can “Press 3 for billing” and their line would connect to the extensions of the accounting department.”

Users can select one out of two choices in deciding how the business VoIP phones will ring including either when the call is received it will ring each individual line in a pre configured order until an extension not currently in use picks up, or it will ring all of the extensions simultaneously until ultimately one phone line connects successfully.

It’s very easy to initiate hunt group on the Nextiva NextOS Dashboard, even for the most novice business VoIP user. To see a video on exactly how to get this process rolling, click here.
