Patton Unveils New SmartNode Gateway-Router for Business VoIP Market in Europe

Patton Electronics, a supplier of VoIP and telecom equipment solutions, is hoping to expand the business VoIP industry in Europe with its new SmartNode gateway router solution that targets mid-sized enterprises and service providers.

The new 8-to-24-call SmartNode 4660 is a cost-effective, one-box VoIP-router solution that can be used for up to 8-BRIs with multiple FXS/FXO interfaces. 

The SmartNode 4660 IP powers ISDN-PBX systems and POTS phone, fax, answering machine, and audio-intercom systems, as well as offers flexible port combinations of 2-to-8 ISDN BRIs, a standard 4-port IP-Ethernet switch, and optional 4-to-8 analog FXS/FXO interfaces.

With the new business VoIP solution, Patton fills the void between high-cost modular VoIP equipment and multi-box solutions that suffer from poor quality and smaller-port-count devices.

The SmartNode 4660 IP also features four 10/100 Ethernet ports to offer seamless WAN access via any existing cable, ADSL, VDSL, EFM, or fiber-optic modem, and enterprise LAN connectivity.

That's how the SN4660 came about. Customers asked and Patton delivered."

Initial shipments of Patton’s SN4660 are expected to begin in May of this year. However, during the months of March and April, Patton will enable resellers and channel partners to benefit from promotional discounts of approximately 5 to 20 percent on SN4660 pre-orders.

The company also has plans to release an 8-BRI FXS/FXO VoIP IAD with an on-board G.SHDSL internet-access modem in the near future.
