Pactolus Offers CSPs Incentives to Transition to IP

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

If you’re a teleconferencing service provider, you’re no doubt aware that many TDM-based audio conferencing bridges are now being phased out by the OEMs. As a result, many service providers will have no choice but to upgrade their networks to IP.

But some of these service providers are fearful of service disruptions as they migrate over to next generation networks. As such, Pactolus Communications (News - Alert) has announced the ReadiSIP Upgrade Program for conferencing service providers (CSPs). Through this program, CSPs can migrate to Pactolus' SIPware Reservationless and Event Conferencing service applications while preserving and enhancing legacy features and pre-defined call flows.

For a limited time, CSPs can get 40 percent off session license list prices for each legacy port replaced with Pactolus. The company is also offering discounts for new service features and custom enhancements that CSPs have been unable to deliver, due to the limits of their legacy TDM bridges.

By migrating to SIP-based services, CSPs can reduce operational costs. What’s more, they can rapidly introduce new features, including self-service features that help attract new customers. The ReadiSIP Upgrade Program will remain in effect through May 30.

"Pactolus has worked aggressively with CSPs to help them protect and stabilize their business against the current economic climate,” said Pactolus chairman and CEO Paul Blondin, in a release. “Our products have already replaced thousands of ports of legacy TDM audio conferencing bridges, and our domain expertise and flexible product architecture has given our customers an edge in the market.”

Pactolus made news on TMCnet in February when it announced that World Communication Group Services (WCGS), which specializes in telecommunications switching solutions, had selected Pactolus’ SIPware Prepaid Services as the SIP-based prepaid platform for its IP network.
