Pactolus Corporation Releases InService Sofware for SIP-based Providers
By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Senior Editor
Pactolus Corporation, developer of SIP-based IP voice services, yesterday announced the release of a new multi-site availability software product called InService.
The new software, an optional component for Pactolus’ SIPware Audio Conferencing application, gives SIP-based providers the ability to intelligently manage and sustain their services across geographically-dispersed points of presence.
With InService, providers now have another tool in their box to achieve uninterrupted service delivery in the event of IP network component failures and other disruptive events such as the failure of an entire point of presence.
"Momentary IP service outages can be particularly apparent in hosted multi-user service sessions. Even a fraction of a second's interruption can force all audio conference participants to terminate and restart a call session,” said analyst Deb Mielke of Treilage in a press release. "By addressing this need, Pactolus opens important new doors for IP service delivery for both new and established service providers."
