Verscom Teams with Pactolus to Expand its Reach in EMEA

By Patrick Barnard, Senior Web Editor, TMCnet

Pactolus Communications Software Corporation has reportedly teamed up with Verscom, a leading telecommunications systems integrator serving the European, Middle Eastern and African markets, to develop and distribute new IP services for telecoms operating in those markets.

Through an agreement between the two companies, Verscom is integrating Pactolus’ SIPware IP voice services suite into IP service provider networks now being developed in Turkey, Bahrain and across the Middle East.

In addition, Verscom is leveraging Pactolus’ RapidFLEX Service Creation Environment and Service Delivery Platform to create new services.

“Our selection of Pactolus as our exclusive IP voice services partner is based both on the SIPware suite’s performance, scale and time-to-market, and the power and flexibility of its Service Creation Environment,” said Verscom CTO Ali Argun in a press release. “Verscom is providing major service providers with innovative services and service features, integration of legacy network resources and subscriber data, and compelling time-to-market and service differentiation advantages, and Pactolus is an invaluable partner in achieving these goals.”

The partnership is already starting to pay off. The two companies have already landed a major deal to provide their services - including a “first of its kind” SIP-RADIUS integration - to Teletek Telekom, Turkey’s leading IP carrier, which is undertaking a multimillion dollar upgrade to its network.

RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) is a ubiquitous client/server remote access security and policy enforcement protocol used by PSTN carriers worldwide for usage tracking and subscriber billing.

The SIP-RADIUS integration will enable Teletek to harness the power of SIP’s call control, IVR, services scale and performance with customers whose subscriber records reside on its Digiquant (now part of Intec Telecom) systems, without database replication and capital equipment outlays.
