Business process management (BPM) software provider Cordys has opened its first Nordics office in Stockholm, Sweden. The location is part of the company's worldwide expansion efforts, following an office that opened in Paris, France, last month. Cordys has offices throughout the world, including United States locations in New Jersey and Michigan.
“This is a major step in the continual growth of Cordys” said Per Jonsson, CEO of Cordys, in a statement of the Sweden office. “Opening a new office in Sweden will mean that we can get even closer to our customers. We’ve done very well in this region, and now with our expanded presence, we have an even stronger base with which to extend our leadership and success and provide our Nordics customers and partners with increased service and support.”
For the past decade, Cordys has relied on the combination of BPM software and cloud technology to dramatically increase the speed of change and apply BPM better and faster. Recently, the company was recognized by Ovum as Best Vendor in SaaS (News - Alert) BPM Platforms. Independent analyst firms have ranked the company as one of the hottest technology vendors of 2010.
Leading an office for one of the “hottest technology vendors” of 2010 will be Jan Hygstedt, formerly of TIBCO, webMethods (News - Alert), Microsoft and Oracle, who will serve as the regional director for the new Stockholm office. He served the last five years as country manager for the Nordic region for TIBCO. He has also held several senior sales and management positions and has a master’s degree in computer sciences and economics from the University of Uppsala.
“I am excited to be leading the expansion into the Nordics market,” said Hygstedt. “The combination of BPM and cloud capabilities in the Cordys platform is exactly what some of the largest companies in Scandinavia are looking for in their efforts to streamline operations and become more competitive, agile and sustainable.”
Over the last several years, Cordys has experienced strong growth, with a 56 percent increase in license revenues from 2008 to 2009. The BPM software company has been named a leader in fields like cloud orchestration and SaaS BPM, offering a number of opportunities for their process channel partners like telecommunication service providers.
Cordys recently announced strategic partnerships with CSC (News - Alert) and Google, which has enabled the company to focus on license sales, product development and customer and partner support. Global customers include Siemens Healthcare, ABB, MCM Klosterfrau, ING Vysya Bank, Comcast, PHNS, Shaw Communications, Carrefour India, DP World, Aegon-Religare, CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation), Powel, RWE/Essent, SOS (News - Alert) International, Rendo Energy, China Post Logistics and YES Bank.
“Our 350 strong research and development team has made it possible to build a platform that bridges the gap between on-premise enterprise software and services from the cloud,” said Jan Baan, CEO and founder of Cordys. “It is our mission to provide customers with world-class software which facilitates change and innovation in the way they do business with greater speed and flexibility. The business operations platform enables them to continuously improve their business operations and achieve faster return on investments.”
