Presence Technology Acquired by Enghouse Systems

One of the defining characteristics of a leader in any industry is the ability to make oneself stand out in the crowd. For businesses, making your company stand out is essential to having a productive business, especially if the company becomes known on a global scale. It is for precisely this reason that Enghouse Systems Limited has decided to acquire Presence Technology (News - Alert), S.L.


Enghouse, a provider of enterprise software solutions serving a variety of vertical markets, will be acquiring Presence for approximately $17.4 million (net of the cash acquired), subject to certain price adjustments and other considerations. For comparison, Presence’s annual revenue is about $13.2 million, so money won’t be an issue going forward.

What’s so appealing about Presence is that it has a major global audience. This matches perfectly with Enghouse’s (News - Alert) strategy to build a larger and more diverse enterprise software company through strategic acquisitions and managed growth within its business segments. Some of these segments include Contact Center, Networks (OSS/BSS) and Transportation/Public Safety. Enghouse shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:ESL).

Presence fits this bill because it is headquartered in Spain and is a provider of multi-channel contact center software solutions with a specific focus on Spanish speaking markets. The product suite—which provides Presence’s 200 clients with a flexible architecture to deploy contact center capabilities on premise, in the cloud or on a hybrid basis—is available in English and Spanish, with end-user modules also available in Portuguese. This has enabled Presence to establish a leadership position in its core markets of Spain, the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa.

As if the global standing wasn’t appealing enough to a company like Enghouse, Presence’s solutions are also consistently being recognized for quality and innovation. Most recently, the company received TMC (News - Alert) awards for Unified Communications and WebRTC Product of the Year. In addition, it has also been positioned in the Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Contact Center Infrastructure. 

For these reasons, Enghouse is excited to acquire Presence. “The acquisition furthers our goal to build our global business with expansion into Spain, South Africa, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil,” said Steve Sadler, Chairman and CEO of Enghouse. “We are pleased to welcome Presence's employees, customers and partners.”
