Allot (News - Alert) Communications, an innovator in IP service optimization and revenue generation solutions based on deep packet inspection (DPI), today revealed it has added a new Tier 1 Asian mobile operator to its expanding customer base. The operator, which currently has two million subscribers, has chosen the Allot Service Gateway (News - Alert) and Subscriber Management Platform (SMP) to facilitate the offering of tiered services per-usage charging options based on subscriber needs.
With Allot's DPI-based solution, the mobile operator gains complete visibility of its network. In addition, Allot’s NetEnforcer ensures efficient utilization of network resources to keep IP traffic flowing. SMP enables subscriber awareness and management capabilities needed to assure per-subscriber service quality and optimization of personalized service packages. Mobile broadband subscribers will be able to choose from a wide range of tiered service packages and pricing plans, based on their needs and budgets.
"This win is another major advance for Allot in the mobile market," stated Rami Hadar (News - Alert), Allot president and CEO.
"Delivering mobile broadband data services is very capex intensive. As a result, tiered services are now becoming a necessity for operators in order to meet the exponential demand for bandwidth, while ensuring their customers' quality of experience and enabling them to maximize revenues from their networks,” added Hadar.
Last week, Allot announced the debut of the ServiceProtector 4.0, the first security product resulting from the January acquisition of Esphion Limited. The ServiceProtector finds malicious traffic and isolates affected subscribers. This enables safe traffic to flow uninterrupted, at 10 Gbps speeds.
With malicious activities constantly on the rise, service providers are struggling to protect their infrastructures and service quality. Providers are mainly concerned with keeping their mail service off the domain blacklists and maintaining its legitimate standing.
