RadiSys Corp., a provider of hardware and software platforms for next generation IP-based wireless, wireline and video networks, announced that its Promentum ATCA 4.0 platform has received the NGN 2010 Leadership Award from Technology Marketing Corporation's "TMC's (News - Alert)" NGN Magazine.

 

According to a press release, RadiSys was recognized in the Network Technology category for its ATCA 4.0 platform. This platform was credited for redefining service providers' capacity and for delivering services, applications and content to the growing constituencies.

 

RadiSys (News - Alert) officials said that the ATCA 4.0 platform supports next-generation high-bandwidth 4G applications. This fully integrated platform features a 10GBASE-KR and 40GBASE-KR4 capable backplane and 40G switching capability.

 

In addition, the RadiSys ATCA 4.0 platform will facilitate Telecom Equipment Manufacturers "TEMs," who intend to build next-generation network elements to address 4G and fixed broadband markets, with cutting-edge technology as well as the switching, power and cooling in order to handle higher throughput and capacity.

 

According to RadiSys, it was the first company to deliver 10G platform solutions to the market.

The NGN Leadership Award was established by TMC to recognize those company and solutions that have got outstanding achievement in the IP Communications community, such as outstanding products, services and technologies relating to IMS and NGN environments.

 

Officials with TMC said, the Second Annual NGN Leadership Award recognized the growth, evolution and distinction between the applications and services designed for next generation networks and the enabling technologies that make them possible.
