By Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor

ATCA solutions provider RadiSys Corporation has announced that GENBAND, a developer of next-generation IP infrastructure, will incorporate RadiSys’ (News - Alert) components into its latest carrier-class security, session and border control products.

In using RadiSys’ high-performance building blocks, including the Promentum ATCA-2210 and AMC-7212, GENBAND (News - Alert) will be able to focus on application development, advancing product delivery and revenue generation.

“We selected RadiSys’ industry-leading ATCA building blocks to help us meet our aggressive time-to-market goals as they offer the perfect blend of performance and flexibility,” said Keith Landau, chief product officer at GENBAND. “RadiSys’ in-depth knowledge of ATCA, breadth of ecosystem partnerships and proven track record make them the right partner as we deploy our S-Series S9 platform for GENBAND’s fixed and mobile solutions.”

The GENBAND S-Series product line is designed to address security and border control requirements across a wide spectrum of applications including Femtocells, WiFi (News - Alert) and VoIP. The scalable platform reaches up to 1.2 million IPSec tunnels at 3,000 tunnels per second set-up rate and 108,000 concurrent SBC sessions.

By deploying RadiSys’ ATCA switching and packet processing technology, GENBAND reps said the company will be able to take advantage of industry-proven solutions that provide scalability, high availability and ease of use, along with cutting-edge performance.

“GENBAND’s advanced Security Gateway (News - Alert) and SBC solutions are deployed in fixed and mobile networks around the globe, and we are pleased to collaborate with them as they deliver new security solutions to the industry,” said Venkataraman Prasannan, senior director of product line management at Hillsboro, Ore.-based RadiSys. “At RadiSys, we offer our customers one of the broadest portfolios of ATCA building blocks and integrated platform solutions in the industry, delivering critical performance and scalability, while reducing risk, cost and time-to-market.”
