Anthony Ambrose, RadiSys (News - Alert) vice president and general manager of communication networks, will be presenting at the upcoming LTE event, which will take place Nov. 10-11 in Dallas, Texas. Ambrose will present “LTE EPC: Enabling Network Domain Security (NDS (News - Alert))” at 4:40 p.m. CDT on Thursday, Nov. 11. North America.
Mobile operators worldwide are planning and deploying new Long Term Evolution (LTE (News - Alert)) networks and as operators make this transition, LTE mobile networks are subject to a variety of attacks including user authentication, data integrity and encryption threats. This timely presentation will cover “the risks involved in this migration to 4G and the solutions to address security issues associated with the all-IP architecture.”
Ambrose will discuss how to effectively protect EPC elements and secure IP backhaul with high performance firewall and IPsec, and the integration of security capabilities into 4G network elements using carrier-grade COTS solutions.
Industry analysts are also noting these LTE network threats and recognizing the need for security solutions. “The security landscape in mobile networks is changing significantly with the rise in 3G data traffic and the transition to the LTE architecture,” said Patrick Donegan, senior analyst for Heavy Reading, in a recent release. “As this transition takes place, mobile operators are going to need new approaches to securing their network.”
One such solution that will be discussed within this session is the implementation of a security gateway targeted specifically for LTE deployments.
Now in its 3rd year, LTE North America is firmly established as the preeminent place where key players and decision-makers come to network, inform, refine and benchmark their LTE strategies.
