RadioShack to Offer ooma in Over 3,000 Locations

ooma, Inc., has announced that its ooma (News - Alert) system is now available at RadioShack stores across the country.



 
As part of the agreement, RadioShack, one of the nation's consumer electronics retailers, will now offer ooma in more than 3,000 locations.
 
 “Every day, more consumers are discovering ooma’s superior call quality, impressive suite of features, ease of use, and low cost of ownership,” said Aaron Duran, vice president of sales at ooma, in a statement.
 
Duran said that he couldn’t be more thrilled to have ooma now available at RadioShack, where consumers can learn about ooma from more than 34,000 sales associates.”
 
“In our ongoing effort to make innovative electronics products more accessible, we are excited to be offering our customers the ooma system,” said Doug Lane, merchandising vice president, RadioShack.
 
Lane said that customers who purchase the ooma device will enjoy nationwide calling, exceptional voice quality and no monthly fees. The ooma Hub, a VoIP phone device, relies on a high speed Internet connection to make free calls in the U.S. one does not need to have his or her notebook or desktop computer connected to it.
 
The company officials while describing the products said that an ooma system consists of the ooma Hub connected to a broadband connection and an existing home phone.
 
Officials said that the ooma Scout device extends the benefits of the ooma system to additional phone jacks in the home.
 
The ooma system is a $249.99 hardware bundle that includes an ooma Hub and ooma Scout. ooma Premier is an optional level of service offering multiple advanced telephony features for the ooma system and costs $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
 
ooma Telo is the second generation ooma hardware platform and will be available with optional DECT (News - Alert) 6.0 wireless handsets in the third quarter of 2009.
 
The company offers a consumer electronics device that provides free, U.S. telephone calling and advanced telephony services to its global base of customers.
 
ooma claims that it delivers exceptional call quality and the reliability of traditional phone service at a fraction of the cost, in a sleek and innovative design.
ooma, Inc. in January had announced that it has expanded its retail partnership with Best Buy to offer the ooma system nationwide in all 1,010 Best Buy stores.
