Audio products manufacturer Monster this week introduced its new line of iCarPlay 250 wireless FM transmitters, designed to transmit music wirelessly through an iPod or iPhone ( News - Alert) using a car’s FM stereo system.
The new transmitters also allow users to simultaneously charge their devices, thereby eliminating the common low power problems experienced when using an iPod or iPhone on long road trips.
The iCarPlay Wireless 250 (similar to the iCarePlay Wireless Plus for iPod, pictured) has been specifically created for ease-of-use inside a car. It can be powered by a cigarette lighter adapter cord that connects to devices via USB. A travel charger such as the Monster iSlimCharger or the standard USB port supplied by Monster along with the device is all that is required. The transmitter can also be used at home or at the office.
“Monster has always been the leader in FM transmitters,” said Noel Lee, “Head Monster” at the company. “Monster was the first to design a model that far outperformed the competition in terms of sturdiness and reliability. We were also the first to design an FM transmitter with a built-in iPod charger, and the first with AutoScan capability. And we've raised the bar yet again with iCarPlay Wireless 250 - the world's most innovative, high-performance FM transmitter for iPhone and iPod.”
The wireless FM transmitter uses technology that performs automatic scans of the FM spectrum to locate the best radio frequencies. The scan is conducted three times before the iCarPlay Wireless 250 transmitter locks onto clear radio channels.
"With other wireless transmitters, you need to hunt for an FM channel that's clear enough to tune into,” Lee said.
The Monster iCarPlay Wireless 250 also comes equipped with 3 programmable radio station presets, a detachable USB cable, a low profile power adapter, line level audio with intuitive 3-button control, and an LCD display. Suggested retail price for the product is $99.
