By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Alienware, a manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook and entertainment systems, has re-launched its popular Area-51 ALX desktop.
The all-new ALX offers the 3.2GHz Intel (News - Alert) Core2 Extreme QX9770 overclocked to 4.0GHz. The company is providing every new Area-51 ALX with Alienware ALX High-Performance Liquid Cooling.

Product Marketing Manager for Alienware, Marc Diana said in a statement that the performance packed into the Area-51 ALX desktop is flat-out unheard-of. He added that his company has always been committed to building only the fastest, most powerful systems available, and that's exactly what they've done with the new ALX.
CJ Bruno, VP, GM Americas Sales & Marketing explained that by enabling the Area-51 ALX to operate at blazing speed with a great mix of performance and energy efficiency, the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 is the heart of a system sure to excite any Alienware user.
Powering the Area-51 ALX desktop’s graphics, users have their choice between NVIDIA (News - Alert) Quad SLI featuring dual NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 cards or an ATI CrossFireX configuration with dual ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 cards. The system offers up to 4GB of Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz memory and the company claims that no other system offers this level of raw power and aggression.
Alienware Area-51 was ranked among "The 25 Greatest PCs of All Time" by PC World and also received PC Magazine's Reader's Choice Award in its 18th Annual Reader Survey.
Last month, Alienware launched the Area-51m17x, a commanding and aggressive addition to the newly redesigned Area-51 line of notebook computers. Boasting a brilliant 17-inch, widescreen HD display, Alienware’s Area-51 m17x is ideal for PC gamers, 3D content creators and multi-media enthusiasts.
