Acer recently unveiled its new Aspire 8920G laptop series, designed for high-definition performance on the go. This new product line comes on the heels of Acer’s successful Gemstone laptops, and has similar features with high-def capabilities and Dolby audio enhancements added.
The new laptops run on the latest Intel ( News - Alert) Core 2 Duo processors with mobile Intel PM965 Express Chipset for wireless connection. They also feature support for Acer SignalUp with InviLink Nplify wireless technologies.
Other features: 8.4-inch Full HD CineCrystal LCD panel, and a pumped-up graphics engine (NVIDIA ( News - Alert) GeForce 9650M GS or NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS). The video cards support PureVideo HD technology, Shader Model 4.0 and Microsoft DirectX 10.
Audio technologies like CineSurround, Tuba CineBass booster, and True5.1 output are added to the second generation Dolby Home Theater technology to provide the best sound possible. A specially crafted tube-style Acer Tuba CineBass subwoofer exceeds 10 W, blasting the clearest low tones imaginable via Dolby Natural Bass technology. With amplified volume and no static or muffling, music enthusiasts can really feel the deep bass beats.
Acer also designed its new laptops to have eye-catching visual features. For example, an ‘Enlightener’ power button lights up a line of bright blue neon when the computer is turned on. The NeoWeave palm rest providing a comfortable, ergonomic area for users’ hands, and the DiamondBlack eKey is reminiscent of previous stones.
Further, the laptops feature a 640 GB hard drive, along with choice between a Blu-ray and multi-function DVD drive. A 6-in-1 card reader is also available. Selected models include a digital TV tuner.
On selected models, the Aspire 8920G comes bundled with a VoIP Bluetooth phone. Used in combination with the integrated Acer CrystalEye camera, the VoIP phone enables real-time videoconferencing and effortless broadcasting.
The Aspire notebooks come with Microsoft ( News - Alert) Windows Vista Ultimate or Windows Vista Home Premium preinstalled. A package of multimedia, video and other applications is also included.
