Exclaim has formed a strategic partnership with Athentech Technologies (News
) bringing their Perfectly Clear image-correction technology to Exclaim’s Pictavision DMM (Digital Media Management) platform.
Pictavision DMM, the user-generated, content exchange platform for wireless carriers and digital consumer electronics vendors connects wireless devices with a range of consumer Web 2.0 brands, retailers, and digital home consumer devices.
Perfectly Clear’s Real Color correction accurately corrects photos to perfectly preserve the customer’s memories. According to Exclaim, digital capture devices currently are incapable of reproducing the full spectrum of colors that the eye sees. Because Perfectly Clear optimizes the exposure for every pixel in the image, it ensures that customers’ photo memories are accurately corrected and perfectly preserved forever.
Under the agreement, Perfectly Clear will be integrated into the Pictavision DMM server platform, which will automatically detect the camera phone model, and through a database of features for the specific phone, will automatically correct photos without users having to select and edit individual photos. Exclaim explains that a database of features will support phone models from Motorola (News
), Nokia, Samsung, LG, and Sony Ericsson.
Customers will also be able to turn Perfectly Clear “off” and “on” or fine tune its corrections. Photos uploaded or printed from a camera phone to any of the destinations that DMM supports, including Facebook (News
), HP Snapfish, and Walgreens, will be automatically done in the background.
Vice President and General Manager of Exclaim, Jiren Parikh (News
) said in a statement that consumer camera phones can’t reproduce all the colors the human eye can see, and overexposed, underexposed, and back-lit images are a common problem.
He noted that integrating Perfectly Clear into the Pictavision DMM and its downloadable Pictavision and Teleprints consumer applications means these problems are a thing of the past. Parikh explained that consumers that share and upload photos to popular content and community portals using Pictavision, or print photos from their mobile phone for pickup at Walgreens using Teleprints, will enjoy perfect pictures every time.
The company will offer Perfectly Clear as part of the DMM platform for service providers and digital consumer electronics vendors in Q2 of 2008. Perfectly Clear will be deployed as an inclusive service for customers who purchase Pictavision and Teleprints mobile applications directly from carriers in Q3 of 2008.
