POSBRO has selected the Opera browser for the world’s first portable WiMAX gaming device. The POSBRO G100 takes the merit of the high data speeds offered by WiMAX (4G) to deliver on line gaming from a portable device. POSBRO used the Opera 9 for Devices SDK to create a compelling Web experience for people using the G100 device.
The device G100 has a four-inch LCD touch screen, with a game pad which can slide-out. It can be connected through Wi-Fi
and Bluetooth in apart from WiMAX. It has a very good speed which helps the users to play all the advanced online games along with many players playing at a time and the environments of the games is great with very good graphics. Accessing websites can also be done with G100.
OSBRO and Korean mobile WiMax have signed the agreement to provide online gaming service through G100 from early 2008. The launch of G100 will happen in the last quarter of this year and the first quarter of the next year in United States. The G100 was demo’d in the Sprint (
