Howard Technology Solutions (News - Alert) is reportedly the first technology provider to offer the ASUS EEE PC with a Windows XP operating system.

This two pounds compact system comes equipped with features such as an Intel (News - Alert) CPU and chipset, 512MB of memory, WLAN, a built-in camera, a 10/100 Ethernet port, and many more. The system will attract people on the go who want a more compact, lightweight computing solution.

Tim Beech, technical marketing manager for Howard Technology Solutions said in a statement that the company is pleased to be the first to offer Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows XP Professional on this platform.

He pointed out that their customers will now have the choice of using the lower cost Linux operating system or the more familiar Windows XP operating system. Beech added that this is the system of choice for users who want the mobility of a small, light notebook with a much lower price than comparably-sized notebooks on the market today.

ASUS is a provider of 3C total solutions (computing, communications, and consumer electronics). Its global revenue for 2006 was $17.4 billion dollars, up from $12 billion in 2005.
