Quantum Data, provider of video testing equipment, announced it will be presenting a new solution for DisplayPort and HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) interoperability and compliance testing at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008.
The 882E instrument used for testing DisplayPort source and sink products will be provided with a VESA Displayport interface. The latest addition would enable 882E to be HDCP compliant for testing on sink devices. Source testing will be enabled shortly said the company.
In addition, it allows pattern and functional testing of sink products at pixel rates of 270MHz.The 882E test equipment has been enhanced to support testing of HDMI 1.3 source and sink devices including Deep Color, lip sync, xvYCC wide gamut color, and new audio formats.
It also offers functional testing and compliance testing for EDID, CEC, and HDCP on HDMI-based products. These EDID and CEC compliance testing tools are used in HDMI Authorized Test Centers.
Another Quantum Data test equipment to be exhibited is the HDMI-based HT-180 Handshake Tester, a portable, handheld instrument used in the troubleshooting of HDCP, EDID, and hot plug problems during installation of HDMI systems. An LCD display shows error codes which help detect faulty equipment, and it boasts an Auxiliary Channel Analyzer, called I2C, which monitors HDCP and EDID transactions to indicate interoperability problems.
Quantum Data equipments facilitate interoperability with equipments manufactured by other companies, including features like signal emulation, signal analysis, troubleshooting, and compliance testing. Further the instruments are used in development, certification, manufacturing, and installation besides service environments according to the company.
