adNav, a GPS marketing solutions company has announced the launch of Boomerang, an ad supported mobile concierge system integrated with GPS navigation. The products from the company will be showcased at CTIA (News
) Wireless IT and Entertainment conference in San Francisco.
The company helps travelers to enhance their navigation experience while away from home, with the help of tools and applications such as restaurant and city guides, weather, currency exchange calculators and mobile Internet access connected via cellular networks and WiFi
. Boomerang is currently scheduled to be available first by early November in San Francisco, with launches in Vancouver, Canada and NYC to follow.
The company will supply Boomerang through their partners and a minimum fee will be charged to the advertisers. For the end customers, it will be free. Mordy Loksen, Co-Founder and CTO of adNav, said in a press release, “The Boomerang will revolutionize the interaction that consumers have with their travel service providers. By offering a product with constant connectivity, we have a multitude of exciting applications already and many more in the works that create an accurate, reliable offering that will enhance any trip.”
The customers at adNav partner hotels and car rental agencies will get these products as an added amenity. The concierge desk will offer services like concierge recommendations and constant connectivity. When a traveler reaches AdNav’s partner hotel or car rental location, he/she can avail the Boomerang for a few dollars a day. Boomerang will offer many services like unlimited access to the web through WiFi (News
) and cellular networks and full functioning voice guided GPS navigation. All you need to do is to simply the destination you wish to reach at your screen and you will be seamlessly guided via GPS. This way, you will have access to hundreds of pages of geo coded information.
Apart from this, you will have unlimited access to many features like live flight information, weather, language translator, currency exchange calculator, tip calculator and, of course, games.
