Computer Sciences (News - Alert) Corporation has selected the IWS Biometric Engine to be a part of CSC’s Border and Immigration Solutions (BIS) Center of Excellence.

 

The IWS Biometric Engine is reportedly among the platforms CSC deploys for the development of biometric identity management systems and border security solutions. These solutions allow government agencies to achieve safer borders and immigration goals.

 

Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and CEO is pleased to work with CSC, and is confident that the Biometric Engine will meet BIS Center of Excellence initiatives, as well as provide assurance of interoperability and compliance for timely implementation.

 

Miller said that this announcement further demonstrates ImageWare’s expertise in the biometric identity management arena and the flexibility of their open-architected technologies.

 

Timothy Ruggles, director of the CSC BIS Center of Excellence explained in a press release that the goal of the BIS Center of Excellence is to help border and immigration management agencies create safer borders and facilitate efficient movement of people, while simultaneously enhance measures to detect and prevent unauthorized or illegitimate activities.

 

“ImageWare’s Biometric Engine provides a strong foundation for developing comprehensive and integrated identity management solutions,” he added.

 

The IWS Biometric Engine is a biometric identity management platform for multi-biometric searching and matching. Utilizing its multi-biometric enrollment, management and authentication platform consumers can search and match populations of unlimited sizes biometrically for identity confirmation.

 

Presently, the IWS Biometric Engine supports more than 100 devices and methods of biometric acquisition and 70 biometric algorithms.
