Allam Marine's Prestigious Office Implements ievo Biometric Readers

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

ievo biometric fingerprint readers have been chosen by Allam Marine to be installed in its latest $6.7-million office building in East Yorkshire. Access to the building will be managed by ievo biometric fingerprint readers, which advantageously use the Lumidigm multispectral imaging sensors.

Allam Marine felt it imperative to have biometric access control for its prestigious office building. The organization required a specific finish for the door access system, along with a detailed group of access necessities.

These needs were fulfilled by ievo through its dependable offerings known for an impressive representation. The system’s straightforward configuration features made it the perfect option.

As part of the installation process, normal access is offered via a Boon Edam Circlelock entrance. Special readers have also been installed across the building for secondary access. During corporate open days, this system can “latch” open the Circlelock, offering complete biometric responsibility.

In a statement, Martin Conley, IT Manager, Allam Marine said, “Our requirements were complex and we found a highly suitable solution from ievo which answered all of our specific requirements. Since the installation, we have been extremely satisfied with the installation which has met our demands and it is outperforming all of our initial expectations.”

The conventional identification card has been replaced with the finger prints of all associates. Upon joining the organization, each associate must register their finger print, and press their finger on the reader when they reach the office every day. The initial door of the Circlelock will only open if the prints match the ones stored in the database.

An interlocking security booth is formed, as the Circlelock comprises two sliding doors that unbolt one after the other. Entry and exit is permitted in turn by the bidirectional security door, which acts as the access-control system.

In the past several months, many prestigious offices have shifted to biometrics for access control. Normal access control is not preferred due to the challenges faced while tracking cards when an employee quits, and the fragile character of the cards.

A sturdy robust reader capable of resolving time and attendance problems, and offering the finest in security, was required by Allam Marine.
