One of the most devastating things parents and families may ever potential face is a missing child.
In a bid to better arm families with information incase this tragedy should ever occur, federal agencies are looking to biometric technology and fingerprinting.
Biometric fingerprint technology offers a reliable and positive identification and is used by federal agencies, law enforcement and the US military.
With biometric information readily available to these law enforcement officials, critical time in the recovery process can be saved.
Sprint ( News - Alert) Nextel, has announced that as a service to a local community in Michigan, it will host a DNA LifePrint Child Safety Event, endorsed, by well known crime-fighter, John Walsh to offer parents a Biometric Fingerprinting & DNA Identification Kit for their child.
Recommended by the FBI and The Department of Justice, the biometric details, if a child does become missing can, "greatly increase their chance of quickly recovering their child if they immediately provide an FBI certified Biometric 10-Digit Fingerprint Profile, a DNA sample, a high resolution full color photograph, and current statistical information."
To ensure security, each child's biometric data will be handed to parents in a DNA kit containing all information, and the only record of it, collected that day
