April 24, 2009

AltiGen Communications, a provider of Microsoft-based Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) business phone systems and unified communications (UC) solutions, has announced updates for its MAX Communications Server (MAXCS) 6.0 VoIP unified communications platform.

The new MAX Communications Server 6.0 Update 2 provides call center customers with completely redesigned desktop applications for agents and workgroup supervisors.

In addition, it provides several improvements to existing features and new applications such as New MaxAgent 6.0 Desktop Application for Call Center Agents, New MaxSupervisor 6.0 Desktop Application for Call Center Supervisors and New MaxInsight 6.0 Readerboard Application for displaying real-time call center statistics.

MaxAgent and MaxSupervisor are built on the model of AltiGen’s MaxCommicator. They provide new look and feel while helping their clients enhance call center productivity, officials said.

Jimmin Yao, vice president of product management at AltiGen, commented that AltiGen’s software-based architecture has the ability to deploy new features as soon as they become available. “Our solution is positioned to provide our customers with value-add feature enhancements during the product's life cycle without the need for traditional 'forklift' upgrades,” Yao added.

MAX Communications Server 6.0 is designed for businesses with support for up to 5,000 users. The MAXCS 6.0 also features a new VoIP switching architecture, which utilizes standard Intel based servers to handle all VoIP voice processing.

AltiGen MAXCS 6.0 is integrated with native Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 to provide a complete, unified messaging solution and the server features new software-based distributed softswitch architecture. Integration with Microsoft Office Communicator also helps deliver rich presence management.

Other important features include a new .NET-based desktop telephony client with enhanced call control features and an expanded meet-me conference bridge with scheduling application supporting 120 participants.
