Interactive Intelligence Named Among America's 100 Fastest Growing Small Public Companies

July 28, 2009

Interactive Intelligence has won recognition for its services once again. Fortune Small Business magazine has ranked the global provider of unified IP business communications solutions among America’s 100 Fastest Growing Small Public Companies. This recognition is significant given the current status of the global economy.

As a result of 10.5 percent revenue growth from 2007 to 2008, Interactive Intelligence was ranked 16th overall and 5th among its fastest growing technology companies. The company also achieved a 7.9 percent total return to investors based on a three-year annualized rate, ending December 2008.

"Despite a tough economy in 2008 we were able to sign an annual record number of 366 new customers," said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown, in a statement. "This really underlines the value our communications software brings by enabling businesses to do more with less.

Software developed and offered by Interactive Intelligence provides contact centers and enterprises the tools they need to be able to effectively manage phone, e-mail and online interactions. These applications include automatic call distribution, interactive voice response, unified messaging, Web chat, and more.

"We're continuing to build on our strong performance by focusing on key initiatives this year, which include our communications-as-a-service business, and the launch of our business process automation product, which is designed to further squeeze out organizational inefficiencies," Brown concluded.

The company’s famed all-in-one IP communications software suite was first introduced in 1997 to offer companies an effective way to eliminate cost and complexity introduced by multipoint products.

Today, Interactive Intelligence provides its 3,000 global customers with a comprehensive solution-set made up of premise-based and hosted offerings, such as software, hardware, consulting, support, education and implementation services.

To determine this year’s winners, financial research firm Zacks compiled the FSB 100 ranking. This data included U.S.-based public companies with revenues of less than $200 million and a stock price of more than $1 based on percentage growth in earnings, revenue and stock performance over the past three years.

Interactive Intelligence garnered attention last year when it announced its Outrageous Interactions contest. This year, the company aims to make it even better. Interactive Intelligence is bringing back the contest, but this time with a twist. Participants can send in their contribution by video. Considering the fun had last year, adding a visual concept is bound to draw an even bigger crowd.
