The new PoP is located at 2653 S Victory View Way, Boise, ID. Involta Idaho 2 has 10,000 square feet of space and 300 racks, with private storage cages available. This SOC 2® externally assessed PoP has a 100% uptime guarantee, ~56% renewal energy (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, biomass), and 24/7/365 security. The Pacific Northwest is known for the clothing, hospitality, and technology industries and Idaho is a business-friendly state. With a thriving start-up ecosystem, including the Venture College incubator at Boise State University, Boise was recently ranked by Inc. Magazine as the fifth most important surge city-the best American hubs to start a business. The capital city was also listed as number 20 on CBRE's Scoring Tech Talent Report, which identified markets by their ability to attract and grow tech talent. This PoP is Hurricane Electric's first location in Idaho and 9th in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and will provide the region with improved fault tolerance, load balancing and congestion management in the delivery of next-generation IP connectivity services. "Boise is a hub of innovation in the Pacific Northwest and we are so pleased to be able to provide global connectivity to Involta's customers," said Mike Leber, President of Hurricane Electric. "This is our first PoP in Idaho and supports our mission to provide IP Transit with low latency and access to thousands of networks for enterprises around the world." Customers of Involta Idaho 2 and in and around the Pacific Northwest now have a variety of new connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric's extensive IPv4 and IPv6 network through 100GE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) and GigE (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports. Additionally, customers at the facility are able to exchange IP traffic with Hurricane Electric's vast global network, which offers over 20,000 BGP sessions with over 10,000 different networks via more than 280 major exchange points and thousands of customer and private peering ports.
