Since the advent of modern technology, tracking and treating patients has been easier for healthcare facilities. Making use of such a technology, Trudo Hospital in Belgium has reportedly selected the AeroScout Healthcare Visibility solution to efficiently track the patient’s location. The hospital can also easily track WiFi (News - Alert) devices using this technology.  

 

Often healthcare facilities will have a complex need that requires a combination of visibility methods for multiple uses. AeroScout's Unified Asset Visibility solution claims to offer true enterprise visibility over a single infrastructure. The company combines information about valuable mobile assets, including location, auto-identification, status/condition and other features.

 

Earlier, AeroScout’s WiFi RFID solution was used by St. Trudo to improve the management of critical medical equipment. The hospital also uses this solution to wirelessly monitor the temperatures in key areas of its premises. Recently, the hospital also added the ability to immediately locate ambulatory patients and WiFi devices with the AeroScout Healthcare Visibility solution and it’s Cisco (News - Alert) Unified Wireless Network.

 

 “As a former hospital nurse, I am well aware of the implications and stress that can result when clinicians can’t easily locate equipment and patients,” said Wim Verduyn, director, EMEA healthcare, at AeroScout, in a statement. “When an emergency occurs, it’s important to be able to locate patients and critical equipment quickly. AeroScout is proud to work with St. Trudo and Dräger to help improve care and safety at the hospital.”

 

The new technology from AeroScout helps the patients can be used to help the patients walk around the hospital and still be tracked. Patients can also leave their unit and even their floor while still being visible to nurses and staff as Wi-Fi is prevalent in the hospital.

 

Recently, the company announced that the Valencia, Spain-based Mercedes-Benz dealership has successfully deployed its “Vehicle Tracking and Management” system. This full system comprises AeroScout Wi-Fi Tags, AeroScout Exciters, a Cisco 3350 Mobility Services Engine with Context-Aware (News - Alert) Mobility Solution and AeroScout’s MobileView software. All of this works with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, which is used for WiFi and voice applications.
