Zoom Telephonics, a company that designs, produces, and supports 3G modems and routers, ADSL modems and gateways, cable modems, dial-up modems and Voice over IP adapters, has announced that it has begun shipment of the Zoom 3G Wireless-N Desk Router, Model 4501.
Model 4501 was released to the market with an estimated U.S. retail of $79 and offers easy sharing of a 3G connection wherever there is a 3G mobile broadband modem including an AC power like office, home, trade show, airport, hotel, and more.
The router connects to the Internet through a plug-in 3G USB modem, and provides Internet access for up to 253 devices simultaneously through the Router's wireless n/g/b network or a wired Ethernet connection.
The new router also supports a wide range of Internet service connection protocols, including static IP, dynamic IP (DHCP client), PPTP, L2TP, PPPoE, and 3G. These can be set up using the Router's built-in browser interface, or using Universal Plug and Play -for even easier setup.
According to officials with Zoom Telphonics, most 3G mobile broadband modems can be plugged into Model 4501 to instantly create a Wi-Fi compatible Hotspot for a wide range of devices including Windows and Macintosh computers, the iTouch and Blackberry, mobile phones, barcode readers, and game stations.
Additionally, the router can be used for ADSL and Cable modems, with automatic broadband backup if a 3G USB modem is plugged in.
