Wirefly, a provider of cell phone and wireless service plans, has announced the availability of netbooks with embedded 3G wireless service from both AT&T and Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless for activating their mini-notebook computers.

Netbooks are preferred by users because of their ultra-compact size and affordability. Also, these light weight machines include full Windows operating systems and enable Internet access and emailing as well as play music, stream videos and facilitate light computing while traveling.

Adding netbooks to our product line was an easy decision because they fit our consumer demographic profiles perfectly. Just like smartphones, they appeal to a data-centric shopper, looking for the latest and greatest in mobile technology,” said Andy Zeinfeld, chief executive officer of Simplexity, parent company of Wirefly.com.

On their site, consumers can compare netbooks and 3G services offered by both AT&T (News - Alert) and Verizon Wireless to find the best match between their computing lifestyles and products, followed by the ability to purchase and activate of their new ultra-mobile PC.

David Haight, vice president of business development, AT&T Emerging Devices pointed out that pairing these ultra-portable devices with a fast 3G network, consumers have a convenient and affordable option for staying connected at home and on-the-go.

Wirefly.com plans to offer Acer (News - Alert) Aspire One with AT&T 3G service and the HP Mini 1151NR from Verizon. Acer Aspire One weighs just over 2 lbs and it comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows XP Home edition. It uses the AT&T 3G network, Wi-Fi or Ethernet to provide access to the Internet and Web-based applications. Its RAM capacity allows seamless multitasking and includes 160 GB of built-in memory as well as two flash memory card slots supporting 8 GB each.

Ron Zanders, director of distribution at Verizon Wireless said that the HP Mini 1151NR is the perfect netbook for the person who needs to stay connected wherever they are.

Wirefly also offers several netbook accessories like fashion cases, portable printers, portable DVD players and wireless mouse besides cell phones, wireless accessories and wireless plans.
