Alvarion (

Alert), a leading provider of WiMAX
and wireless network solutions, has named Efrat Makov as its new chief financial officer, replacing Dafna Gruber effective April 1.
Makov, a U.S. certified public accountant, was previously CFO for Aladdin Knowledge Systems (
News -
Alert). Prior to that, she was employed by two NASDAQ-listed, Israeli-based companies, where she held management positions.
Makov served Arthur Andersen in its London, New York and Tel Aviv offices. She was also the vice president of finance at Check Point Software (
News -
Alert) Technologies Ltd., this after serving NUR Macroprinters Ltd. as director of finance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from Tel Aviv University.

press release. “We will benefit from her extensive background, which includes senior management positions at several publicly-traded technology companies. In addition, we are fortunate to have an executive with her leadership and management skills to head our excellent finance team.”
Alvarion is a global provider of WiMAX
and broadband wireless solutions that was formed after BreezeCom and Floware, both Israeli telecom companies, merged. It is headquartered in Tel Aviv and maintains offices across 23 countries. Alvarion recently acquired Interwave, a move that allowed the company to expand in the mobile GSM
equipment market, on top of its existing fixed wireless solution.
Alvarion’s product portfolio enables residential and broadband access, toll quality telephony, corporate VPNs, hotspot
coverage extension, mobile voice and data, and community interconnection.
