telephony to integrate IP-based communication benefits to all handsets.
This new approach to mobile VoIP takes advantage of mobile operators’ current infrastructures. The Concilio Mobile Gateway Suite is a unique VoIP solution designed for both enterprise customers and service providers. This technology can dramatically lower the cost of setting up IP mobile solutions, by eliminating international calling and roaming
charges.
Markku Rautiola, CEO and founder of Concilio, said in a
report, “This is the only operator-friendly mobile VoIP solution in the world. Instead of trying to bypass current mobile operators, we are leveraging the existing infrastructure and building coexistence of 2G/3G
and WiFi (

using normal GSM numbering schemes without need for cumbersome dual numbering schemes or dedicated client software.”
Concilio Networks offers two separate gateways, the Concilio Roaming Gateway, which connects VoIP networks to mobile networks in order to manage authentications, identifications and location updates, and Concilio Access, which connects Radio Access Networks to VoIP networks.
This new technology enables mobile operators to take advantage of WiFi service that can be accessed directly through a SIM card and without the need to build WiFi infrastructure. This feature is great for global expansion, as the VoIP network can be can be remotely controlled and connected to different RANs anywhere in the world.
Concilio Mobile Gateway Suite gives VoIP, cable and satellite operators an opportunity to include mobile services with their established service portfolio.
