Luxul Expands Military Product Offerings with X-WAV Antennas

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Lindon, Utah-based wireless signal technologies developer, Luxul Wireless, reportedly has announced that company has expanded its military product offerings with the introduction of its X-WAVTM Antennas.

Officials at Luxual say that the X-WAV series of Antennas is designed to meet the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense and Homeland Security wireless applications. It operates in the protected 4.4–4.94 GHz government bands and optimized for use in 4.4–4.6 GHz military frequencies.

X-WAV Antennas make use of companies Luxul’s (News - Alert) Clear-WAV Circular Polarization technology that delivers greater signal reach and penetration. This technology is ideal for both mobile and fixed Non-Line-of-Site wireless applications and is key elements to successful WiFi (News - Alert), WIMAX, RFID, wireless Broadband and other wireless network implementations.

“We’re very pleased – but not surprised – that our high-performance Clear-WAV products are in demand and meeting the stringent requirements of the U.S. military,” said Tyler Crawford, chief executive officer of Luxul Wireless.

He added, “Luxul Wireless is well recognized and proven in commercial markets to be an innovator of high quality and high performance wireless products that simply work. Bringing these products to military markets is a natural extension for us.”

In addition, Officials at Luxual say, company’s Shock-WAV WiFi Signal Boosters are the perfect complement to Luxul’s X-WAV antenna technology. Designed for bi-directional amplification, Shock-WAV Signal Boosters expand coverage area and improve throughput. X-WAV Antennas can be directly connected to Federal Information Processing Standards validated radio devices operating in the government protected frequencies.

The Shock-WAV FTA converts signals generated by commercial off the shelf 5.x GHz Wireless LAN technologies to the secured 4.4-4.94 GHz Government band and transmits that signal over long distances. The bi-directional FTA enables any 802.11a wireless LAN radio to operate in the 4.4-4.94 GHz Government Band, says the company.

Luxul Wireless aims to overcome the challenges posed by traditional wireless networking methodologies by innovating superior wireless signal propagation technologies. Based on advanced signal technology that offers better reach and penetration, X-WAV antennas are most suitable for environments where coverage is limited.
