Comtrend Unveils New CT-5374 WiFi Router

Comtrend Corporation has unveiled its new CT-5374 WiFi (News - Alert) router, which supports both ADSL2+ and VDSL2 standards and is compliant with the TR-069 standard for remote management. It also has an extra WAN port, allowing it to be used as a high powered broadband router for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments.

The CT-5374 supports 802.11n draft 2.0 WiFi networks and has four 10/100 Base-T LAN ports. Also present is a fifth port that is 10/1000/1000bt which also doubles up as a WAN port. With the CT-5374, Telcos will be able to support high speed voice/video/data services and also reduce the number of products to be purchased. The WiFi router supports UPnP and DLNA features. If a hard drive is plugged into the router’s USB 2.0 port, it will also be able to function as a media server. This residential gateway thus enables Telcos to provide a service offering that essentially creates a connected home environment.

The CT-5374 is able to support high speed triple play services, high-definition TV and interactive gaming services with the existing infrastructure since it accommodates both ADSL2+ and VDSL2 standards. It also supports G.INP and PhYR technologies. The router can be used as a high powered broadband router for FTTN through the extra WAN port and consists of packet-level Quality of Service (QoS) technologies. The WiFi router also contains features such as 64- and/or 128-bit WEP data encryption plus WPA and address filtering 2x2 MIMO support, 802.1x, WPA/WPA2, weak key avoidance, 802.11i, CCX 3.0, full rate AES encryption, WMM QoS and WPS button.

For ISPs and carriers that intend to use one DSL device to cover end users in different loop range areas, the CT-5374 is the ideal solution. The usage of only one DSL solution creates cost savings for the TCO of ISP and carrier. The CT-5374 which can be managed through a web interface supports remote administration, automatic firmware upgrade and configuration.

“Because it can automatically switch between VDSL2, ADSL2+ or be used as a high powered Ethernet Router, the CT-5374 router simplifies life for telecom personnel in terms of inventory, installation, remote management profiles and support,” said Andrew Morton, general manager at Comtrend (News - Alert) Corporation, in a statement.

A global supplier of broadband equipment, Comtrend is an ISO-9001/14001 company.
