Joel Hames, the Tamalpais Union High School District's senior director of Information Technology said that wireless access classrooms enable teachers to use laptops and wireless devices in novel ways. The District was unhappy with their previous ad-hoc wireless efforts that allowed staff members to bring wireless access points as needed to solve specific access issues.
The Tamalpais Union High School District wanted to provide ubiquitous wireless access with integrated security and picked Aruba as the platform offered a comprehensive suite of tools for managing and maintaining their wireless network. Hames added that they chose Aruba for the project due to its competitive pricing, integrated security, and easy-to-use network management.
Aruba’s deployment for this project included three MMC-6000 Multi-Service Mobility Controllers, 175 access points, and the AirWave (

Robert Fenstermacher, Aruba's head of education marketing noted that a increasing number of school districts are using mobile computer carts and handheld devices as well as interactive learning applications to facilitate anytime/anywhere learning.
“Making the most of these mobile teaching resources requires pervasive and reliable wireless access. School systems, like the Tamalpais Union High School District, increasingly turn to Aruba for wireless solutions because our networks offer both the best value and best-in-class performance,” he added.
