Anritsu Company has announced Fixed WiMAX test options for its MT8222A BTS Master, enabling the analyzer to become a handheld field solution for measuring WiMAX. The test options enable RF measurements and demodulation, and expand the analysis capability of the BTS Master.
The BTS Master already offers cable and antenna analysis, a power meter, interference and spectrum analysis, a Bit Error Rate Tester, channel scanner and a power monitor. The new Fixed WiMAX options allow the BTS Master to become a single-instrument solution for engineers, technicians and contractors deploying WiMAX networks. They enable the solution to measure transmitted signal strength and the signal shape of the selected BTS transmission. The WiMAX option features familiar channel spectrum, power versus time, RF summary and ACPR screens. The Fixed WiMAX Demodulator option also analyzes OFDM signals and displays detailed measurements for the evaluation of transmitter modulation performance.
The new options enable the advantages of the BTS Master design to be carried over to the Fixed WiMAX measurements. These include the pass/fail mode, which enables technicians to select a test procedure in which the results are displayed in table format with clear PASS and FAIL indications. This includes minimum/maximum thresholds and actual measured results.
The company’s Master Software Tools may also be used with the Fixed WiMAX options. The package consists of comprehensive data management and analysis software to enable custom tests to be created and downloaded into the BTS Master to ensure WiMAX network performance.
