Ubiquisys (

Alert) Ltd. has announced that it launched a new femtocell
system for small and medium sized businesses after the success of its residential models.
The company develops intelligent femto 3G
access points and has now introduced the ZoneGate E2 modular femtocell system which will be available later this year.
The Ubiquisys ZoneGate E2 system allows mobile operators to optimize SOHO operations and coverage in SMBs which generally suffer from inconsistent mobile coverage and high costs and offers a solution to employees when using their own mobile phones.
Ubiquisys’ ZoneGate 3G access point comes as a plug and play device which can connect seamlessly to a broadband gateway. It allows multiple interfaces to the operator’s core network.
The 3G handsets and datacards used by employees would switch to a lower tariff when they enter the office premises.
The private network will also offer them secure high speed mobile Internet access and the usage of a single phone operating at a lower cost makes it possible to do away with standard fixed-line phones.
Commenting on the efficency of femtocells for small businesses, Will Franks, CTO at Ubiquisys said in the press release, “Femtocells have long been thought of as a consumer device that provides better quality lower cost mobile coverage in the home, this is no longer the case. Mobile operators can now extend these innovative services to businesses as well.”
“The ZoneGate E2 modular femtocell system will provide employees in small companies with a major productivity advantage, one device, a low-cost office tariff, and maximum speed mobile internet,” he concluded.
